When flames swept through Altadena, they took more than homes, they devoured stories, stole history, and erased lifetimes of creativity. The Eaton fires ravaged a historic Black community, leaving artists without the works that embodied their struggles, triumphs, and heritage. But from ash, we rise.
Black in Mayberry invites you to a night of solidarity, healing, and radical joy. Join us for 'RISE', a benefit concert uniting artists, allies, and advocates to rebuild what was lost. Together, we’ll transform grief into hope, loss into legacy, and isolation into collective power.
FEATURING:
🎶 Live Music & Poetry: Soul-stirring musical and poetic live performances.
🎨 Community Art Workshops: Create alongside artists, because art heals.
🖼️ Silent Art Auction: Bid on donated works to fuel the rebirth of Altadena’s creative spirit.
🍲 Food & Libations: Savor bites from Black-owned vendors, served with love and resilience.

WHY WE RISE:
Art is the heartbeat of resistance. For generations, Altadena’s Black artists have used their craft to combat erasure, racism, and silence. Now, it’s our turn to ensure their voices aren’t lost to the flames. Every dollar raised will restore art supplies, rebuild studios, and reignite the creative fires that define this community.
This is more than a concert.
It’s a declaration: Black art is irreplaceable. Black stories are sacred. And when injustice strikes, we rise, together.
